Charles L. Doty, Jr. 51, of Marissa, IL; born on September 4, 1966 in Belleville, IL; passed away on Wednesday, November 01, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville, IL.
Charles was a carpenter. He liked fishing, gardening, bow hunting and working on his truck.
He was preceded in death by his father – Charles L. Doty, Sr. and his dad – Robert Bodendieck.
He is survived by his children – Cherish (Eddie Bowen – fiancé) Bodendieck of Springfield, IL; Samantha (John) Mayer of Lockwood, MO; Charles (Rebecca) Doty III; Joshua (Renee) Doty of Marion, IL. Fourteen grandchildren. His mother – Martha Ruth Ann, nee King, Bodendieck of Marissa, IL. Brothers and sisters – Brian (Mary) Bodendieck Sr. of Cape Girardeau, MO; Dee Ann Hiller of Marissa, IL; Rhonda (William) Affeldt of Marissa, IL; Dean Bodendieck of Lyn Haven, FL; Gene Bodendieck of Baldwin, IL; Bobbie (Dan) Ferguson of Marion, IL; Rachel (Mark) Jewett of Port Huron, MI.
Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association or the donor’s choice.

Funeral: Services will be held at Light of Salvation Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Marissa, IL on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 11:00am with Rev. Phillip Easton officiating.

Chuck loved his grandkids beyond anything. He was so proud of our Samantha and all of her accomplishments. As he was of all of his children.
I loved making good meals for him to enjoy. I don’t think I ever saw a person as tiny as Chuck be able to eat that many warm from the oven yeast dinner rolls. He made us smile and laugh so many
