Betty Ann Laumbattus

Betty Ann Laumbattus, 91, of Marissa, IL, died at her home June 17, 2021.  She was born June 9, 1930 to Thomas B. Brown Sr. and Emma, nee Coward, Brown.  She married Arthur “Fred” Laumbattus May 29, 1948 in Osceola, AR.  He preceded her in death on December 8, 2004.

Betty often reminisced about her childhood years growning up in Tilden, IL.  She resided there with her mother Emma & stepfather Harold “Flunk” Holeman and one brother; Thomas B. Brown, Jr.  She graduated in 1948 from the Sparta High School.

Betty is a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marissa, IL and was a Sunday school superintendent for many years, earlier in her life.  She was a homemaker and also worked as one of the “lunch ladies” at Marissa High School.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, an infant son; Mark Allen Laumbattus and a granddaughter; Amanda Jane Laumbattus.

Left to mourn her passing are three sons; Harold “Dean” (Mary) Laumbattus, Kevin (Jane) Laumbattus and Brian “Casey” (Sheri) Laumbattus, all of Marissa, IL. She was Grandma Betty to Courtney (John) Dagner, Rebecca (Seth) Bakke, Justin (Jacqueline) Laumbattus, Jordan (Kirsten Reuss) Laumbattus, Jacob Laumbattus, and Dani and Kelsey Powers, Great-Grandma to Kaylee & Alex, Leif,, Lillian, Soren, Ellie, Joel, Bailey, William and Emma May.  Other survivors include brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Emmett (Billie) Laumbattus, Martha Laumbattus, Theo Mae (Lee) Fulton and by many nieces and nephews from the Laumbattus and Brown Families.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Marissa, IL.

Visitation: Friends may join the family on Tuesday June 22, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the First Methodist Church, Marissa, IL.

Funeral: Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. at First United Church, Marissa, IL with Rev. Cody Battefeld officiating.  Burial will follow at Marissa TWP Cemetery in Marissa, IL.

Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL is in charge of arrangements.
