Arlene Politsch

Arlene Katherine, nee Lesker, Politsch, 92, of Lenzburg, IL, born August 19, 1924 in Lenzburg, Il passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at the Freeburg Care Center in Freeburg, IL. Mrs. Politsch was a homemaker and a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ in Lenzburg, IL. She enjoyed quilting, cooking and canning from her husband Ralph’s garden. Arlene also was an avid reader and supporter of the library, and loved spending time with her kids and grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; Frank and Hilda (Frech) Lesker , her beloved husband of 73 years, Ralph, whom she married on February 1, 1942 in St. Charles, MO and who died on June 9, 2015; her brother, Robert Lesker, and 2 sisters; Helen Krebs and Viola Lesker who died in infancy.

Arlene is survived by her children; Kathleen (Marty) Pflanz of Waco, TX, Wayne (Jennifer) Politsch of Godfrey, IL Ray (Betty) Politsch of Belleville, IL and Terry (Debby) Politsch of New Athens, IL; 4 grandchildren; Martin Pflanz, Cheryl Keim, Jill Zarzeczny and Jamie Burkett.; 9 great grandchildren; James, Koby, Arrabelle, Noah, Emma, Myah, Lupine, Mason and Conner.

Memorials may be made to St. Peter United Church of Christ in Lenzburg, IL.

Visitation; Friends may call at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. and again on Friday, December 23, 2016 from 9 to 10 a.m.

Funeral: Services will be held at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL on Friday December 23, 2016 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Bob Coffey officiating. Interment will follow be at St. Peter United Church of Christ Cemetery in Lenzburg, IL.

Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL is in charge of arrangements.
