Anona M. “Nonie” Junge

Anona Mae “Nonie” Junge, nee Deichmann, 90, of New Athens, IL, born October 29, 1930 in New Athens, IL, passed away on Friday October 15, 2021 at the New Athens Home for the Aged. She was a homemaker and member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Athens, IL.
Mrs. Junge was preceded in death by her parents – Ben and Henrietta (Nuernberger) Deichmann, Jr, her beloved husband – Harry J. Junge, who she married on November 14, 1953 at New Athens, IL and who passed away on October 9, 2016, her sister – Francis (the late Merle) Bonebrake and two sisters-in-law – Dorothy and Eileen Junge.
Nonie, as she was known to all, is survived by her four sons – James (Julie) Junge of Chattanooga, TN, Gary (Nancy) Junge, Steve (Terri) Junge and Michael (Pamela) Junge, all of New Athens, IL, ten grandchildren – Stephanie (Ryan) Ahern of Glenn Ellyn, IL, Jessica (Bob) Smith of Smithton, IL, Steven (Tessa) Junge, Jr. of O’Fallon, IL, John (Anne) Junge of Belleville, IL, Dr. Travis (Grace) Junge of St. Louis, MO, Justin (Lindsey) Junge of Freeburg, IL, Nicholas Junge of New Athens, IL, Ben (Hailey) Junge of O’Fallon, IL, Taylor Junge of New Athens, IL and Martin (Kacie) White of New Athens, IL. Also surviving are her fifteen great-grandchildren – Cole Junge, Regan Ahern, R.J. Ahern, Logan Smith, Lilli Smith, Chase Junge, Austin Junge, Samuel Junge, Camden Junge, Carter Junge, Kinsley Junge, Hayden Junge, Hartley Anona Junge, Savannah White and Grady White and one sister-in-law – Evelyn Junge.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Athens, IL
Visitation; visiting hours are from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday October 20, 2021 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Athens, IL
Funeral: Services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday October 20, 2021 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Athens, IL with Rev. Lyle Buettner officiating. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery in New Athens, IL.
Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL is in charge of arrangements.
