Amy J. Pope

Amy Jean Pope, nee Reinhardt, 72, of Freeburg, IL, born October 17, 1949, in Belleville, IL, passed away on Sunday April 17, 2022, at her residence. Mrs. Pope was a radiology transcriber.
She was preceded in death by her parents – Walter William and Louise (Eicker) Reinhardt, Jr. and her beloved husband – Lanny D. Pope, whom she married on June 18, 1971, in Cape Girardeau, MO and who passed away on May 14, 2000, and by her uncle – Ron Karber.
Amy is survived by her son – Jason (Andrea) Pope of Parkville, MO, two brothers – Mark J (Dawn) Reinhardt of Columbus, MT and Eric (JoAnn) Reinhardt of Marissa, IL, one aunt – Marilyn Karber of New Athens, IL, two nieces – Paula (Joe) Swierczek of Columbia, IL and Renee (Charles) Turner of Naperville, IL and three grandchildren – Jacob, Alexandra and Jack Pope. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Visitation: Friends and family will be gathering from 5 – 7 p.m. on Friday April 22, 2022, at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL.
Funeral: Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday April 23, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Freeburg, IL with Rev. Robert Koch officiating.
Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL is in charge of arrangements.

care my friend. Oh, I know you’ll love this! My 14 year old granddaughter was wearing my Chameleon t- shirt to school one day! Can you believe we still have it? How many years ago was that?😁 Gotta love it, right? Take care my friend! I see D every once in awhile too!

I am so sorry to learn of Amy’s passing. I was her co worker at St Joseph’s, and my husband Mike, Lanny, Amy and I became friends while we were at Scott AFB many long years ago. We kept in touch over the years, mostly via Christmas cards, occasional letters, even had a few visits. She was a very special person, I know she is missed by all who knew her. We send our condolences to Jason, Andrea & all of her family and friends.

I am so sorry to learn of Amy’s passing. I was her co worker at St Joseph’s, and my husband Mike, Lanny, Amy and I became friends while we were at Scott AFB many long years ago.
