Allen Ray Crouch, Sr, 70, of New Athens, IL, born October 30, 1952, in Hammond, IN, passed away on Saturday August 26, 2023, at his residence. He was a machine operator at Gilster-Mary Lee.

He was preceded in death by his parents – Carl Leroy and Henrietta Rose (Seifrig) Crouch, sister – Susie Goatley and two brothers – Carl and Ronnie Crouch.  He was also preceded in death by his stepfather – Jonathan Hatley.

Allen is survived by his wife – the former Barbara Ann Berthold, of New Athens, IL, three sons – Allen Ray (Kari) Crouch, Jr. of Chester, IL, Andrew Louis (Kassi) Crouch of Ava, IL, David Allen (Leslie) Berthold of Sparta, IL, ten siblings – Robert Lee (Bernie) Seifrig of Valpraiso, IN, Shirley (Otis) Sterling of Amarillo, TX, Marilyn Redding of Canton, TX and Dennis, Peggy, Alexis and John, all of TX and Cecelia of CA . He is also survived by 7 grandchildren – Meghan, Angela, David, Kimberly, Bella, Aidan and Kristopher, a gr. granddaughter – Emma Jean, a special niece and nephew – Jenny and Jonathan and other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation: Friends and family will be gathering from 9 to 11 a.m. on August 31, 2023, at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL

Services:  Instead of formal religious services, friends and family will be taking turns sharing fond memories and stories of Allen. This will take place at 11 a.m. following the visitation times. Burial will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, IL
