Alice Sheppard-Jerome, nee Bollmeier, 79, of Belleville, IL; born on June 26, 1937 in Washington County, IL; passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Peters, MO.
Mrs. Jerome was a florist and the owner and operator of Little House of Flowers in Marissa, IL. She was a faithful member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Belleville, IL where she served as a Sunday school teacher, Archivist, choir, Fireside Club, Child Study Guild, Christian Growth Board, Business and Property Board, Co-leader of M&M’s. Alice was instrumental and very proud of the work she did on the Heritage Hall Restoration Committee at St. Paul UCC. Alice was also very active in the communities that she lived in. She was a Girl Scout Leader, a Pink Lady at Memorial Hospital, PTA of the Ramona School, Secretary of Marissa Chamber of Commerce, Marissa National Bicentennial Committee, Marissa Park Board, Marissa BPW. She also served as Chairman of Class of 1955 Reunion Committee.
She was preceded in death by her parents – Christian and Freida, nee Lehman, Bollmeier. Her husband – Joseph Jerome, Jr.
She is survived by her daughters – Marileste Kay Garrison, nee Sheppard of St. Charles, MO; Elizabeth Ann Franklin, nee Sheppard of St. Charles, MO. Her grandchildren – Tierra Nicole (Scott) Wisdom; Andrea Franklin; Alexander Franklin; Matthew Douglas Garrison. One great-grandson – Sawyer Wisdom. One step great-granddaughter – Dakota Wisdom.

Memorials may be made to the Down’s Syndrome Association or to the Heritage Hall Restoration at St. Paul United Church of Christ.
Visitation: Friends may call at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Heritage Hall in Belleville, IL on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and on Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 10:00am to 11:00am.
Funeral: Services will be held at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Heritage Hall in Belleville, IL on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 11:00am with Rev. Robert Koepcke officiating.
Interment: Burial will be held at Trinity United Church of Christ Cemetery in Biddleborn, IL on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 2:00pm.
Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL is in charge of arrangements.

David attended high school with Alice at Belleville Township and appreciated her tireless work as an alumni especially her efforts with the class reunions and monthly luncheons. she always had a ready smile and a gracious manner as she led the class of ’55. She will be sorely missed. You, her family have our sympathy and prayers.
