STEPHENS

Alberta Beatrice Stephens, 86, of Ellis Grove, IL; born on September 30, 1934 in Randolph County, IL; passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2021in St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, IL.

Mrs. Stephens was a Licensed Practical Nurse in several different areas such as Granite City, Centreville, East St. Louis and Sparta.  Not only was Alberta a caretaker for her profession, but she supported IMPACK in Sparta and was always there for someone in need.  She was constantly donating to those in need.  Alberta always put others in need before herself, and she was extremely dedicated to her family.

Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her Husband – Clyde Stephens; Parents – Ralph and Euleda (Collins) Ledbetter; Son – Vinus Michael Duran; Sister – Norma Jean Eggemeyer; Brother – Howard Ledbetter.

She is survived by Three Children – Shayla Kay Duran of St. Louis, MO, Dana Stephens of Belleville, IL and Julie (John) Euleda Vaseska of Waterloo, IL; Six Grandchildren – Michael Duran of Ellis Grove, IL, Jeremy (Kari) Collins of Carbondale, IL, Amy (Jimmy) Moss of O’Fallon, IL, Shelly Collins of St. Louis, MO, Ryan Vaseska of Nellis Airforce Base, NV, Connor Vaseska of Waterloo, IL; Eleven Great Grandchildren; Nieces, Nephews and other relatives.

Memorial Contributions may be made to New Palestine Cemetery.

Visitation: Friends and family may attend Heil-Schuessler & Sinn Funeral Home in Sparta, IL on Friday, March 19, 2021 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the New Palestine Methodist Church in New Palestine, IL on Saturday, March 20, 2021 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Funeral: Services will be held at New Palestine Methodist Church in New Palestine, IL on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.

Interment: Burial will be held at New Palestine Methodist Cemetery following the service.
