Johnathan M. Barrale

Johnathan M. Barrale
Johnathan M. Barrale, known to many as Johnny B, formerly of St. Louis, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at his home surrounded by his wife and family in New Athens, IL at the age of 59 from a 3-year battle with cancer.  He is survived and missed by his loving wife, Sheila (Burk) Barrale.  He will be forever cherished and remembered by his daughter Jessica (Jordan) Prestidge, son, Jonathan (Jenny) Barr, and plus son Cody (Jena) Badgett.  He will be missed by his Grandchildren Emma and Nolan Prestidge, Ellie Badgett, Jadie, Jemma, and Jaxon Barr.  He was the beloved brother to Ross (Rhonda) Barrale, Rosie (John) Martin, Sandy Lener, Sue (Greg) Staat, Joe (Jeff) Barrale, and Ralph Barrale and dear brother-in-law to Lynn Barrale, Mike & Jane Hopkins, Mark & Rhonda Burk, Bruce & Dr Ellen Burk, Elaine Miller, and Mike & Kathy Katz and loved Father-in-law James Burk.  He was predeceased by his parents Ralph and Francis Barrale, his children Heather Baker, Jonathon Barrale and plus-daughter Elysia Badgett, brothers Vincent Barrale, Patrick Barrale, and sister Sherry Waddle, brothers-in-law Gene Lener, Brad Waddle, Bob Miller, and Mother-in-Law Joan Burk.
John was a union painter prior to retiring.  He enjoyed spending time with his wife, Grandchildren, family, and friends.  He loved golfing, camping, and attending Blues games.  He loved to give back to the homeless and help out on food drives whenever he could.  John could make friends with anyone he met throughout his life.
He will be remembered for all the love he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them and if you knew him, you knew it. His loving spirit and kind heart left an impression wherever he went.
There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed we are to our family, friends, and neighbors. Also, a heartfelt thank you to the Chesterfield St. Lukes Staff:  Sr. Chaplain Renita Heinzl, Dr. Jason Edwards, Dr. Jill Oberle, Dr. Christian Sikorski, and Dr. Joseph Sokhn along with the entire Cancer Infusion Staff for their compassion and care.
You will forever be a part of me.  You will live on, inside the sanctuary of my heart for all eternity.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  In his memory, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Serving our Streets (SOS) or any charity of your choice.
Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in New Athens, IL is in charge of arrangements.
